Understanding God’s Grace Pt. Two Of Three

This Bible Study is taken from Chapter Seven: Understanding God’s Grace of "Working The Works of God" By Dr. Andrew M. Nkoyoyo

Charisma is a Greek word meaning “smearing on, anointing, overshadowing or endowment.” By God’s grace, we are overshadowed, smeared on, endowed and anointed by His Holy Spirit to function within the Body of Christ. We have been given a special anointing and measure of grace to fulfill His call on our lives.

Understanding the grace of God will help unlock the unlimited power of God in your life and will permit you to live a victorious and abundant life in Christ Jesus.

Let me share another wonderful testimony to further deepen your understanding on this topic. Please put this revelation of truth in your spirit; it changed my life and it can change yours too. Miracles are not accidents; nonetheless, there is no formula to making them happen.

In 1996, we conducted a seven-day believer’s conference in the rocky, mountain city of Kabale in the southwestern region of Uganda. Hordes of people flocked the facilities five hours before start time, just to get a seat. These people prayed fervently for God’s touch and impartation upon their lives. With only one last service remaining that evening, I was invited to minister at a friend’s church service the following morning.

I prayed and rummaged around for the message, but I did not get a specific theme to talk about. My spirit was enthusiastic, sensing that God wanted to do something far greater than what we had ever experienced before. I was driven to the church and at my arrival, I could tell by the look on those people’s faces that they were anticipating God’s touch on their lives in a profound manner. They were not particularly interested in a sermon, or even some wonderful jokes and stories. They were ready to receive all that God had for them that morning.

Ten minutes later, I was invited to the platform to minister. The minute I took the pulpit, I closed my eyes, lifted my hands to the Father and worshiped Him with words of love and adoration. All of a sudden, people started to scream as evil spirits began coming out of many. Benches fell over as people fell down under the power of God. I could not hear my translator anymore, and when I opened my eyes, he was laying down on the dirt floor sobbing deeply under the power of God.

The anointing of God was so strong that the entire church fell down in the power of the Holy Spirit. For hours everyone was on the floor. Many were set free from demonic oppressions, received healing in their bodies, and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Hours later, they got up and testified of what God had done in their lives. Everyone had a personal experience with the power of God and a praise report to glorify God. I did not preach, nor did I pray for God to do what He did in that service; I did nothing except worship Him.

In utter amazement and anticipation, I rushed back to my hotel room to spend some time in prayer. I was so ecstatic to ask God what He wanted me to learn from that afternoon’s experience. In all honesty, I had never seen anything like that before. Once and for all I knew God wanted to use me even more than I ever imagined, but I needed to know what He was doing to help me stay in the center of His prophetic purpose in my life. As I waited in His presence, He spoke to me, “Son, what you witnessed and encountered this afternoon is My grace.”

 Paul said:

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
